Adventus Dionysii

Pyrrhic expectations rising;
Hollow does the world so seem.
Beasts n’ babes, to wit: surviving,
Horror, haunted, hallowed screams.
Cries for mercy, hope is waning;
Distant hums of dithyrambs.
Foolish virgins, midnight wailing;
Torches blazing, beating drums.
Ancient gods again returning;
Gnostic vision, ‘Noster Pater!’
Vesta’s sacred fire burning,
Hearth of Earth, lo! Phallic Mater.
Once again does Geist thus bring
Death and re-birth of all things.
